Entertainer Evans Palmer's

"
RIGGED AND REAdy"
Having family connections to "Sir Francis Drake"
and coming from the Canadian Maritimes, it's not surprising that Evans’
recording has somewhat of a nautical theme in its title, album cover and songs.
Although all the tunes are not necessarily sea faring, they were chosen to
reflect an unfolding story in the album with its characters and their
sentiments. |

One such song is
Evans' own composition, ‘Chinook Breezes’, a song of distinction having a unique
quality of its own.
Evans plays ‘The Skye Boat Song’ on his Pipes. This is
combined with the beautiful Scottish ballad, ‘The Skyline of Skye’ which he
sings. Hear ‘Amazing Grace’ with pipes and vocals ending in a Scottish
Ceol Mor
singing style. The songs have a good duration. The remaining selections are well
known such as: ‘Those Were the Days’, ‘The Last Farewell’, ‘The Garden Song’,
‘Farewell to Nova Scotia’, along with ‘A Scottish Soldier’, ‘Danny Boy’, and
‘Edelweiss’.
Pleasurable listening is provided by sound samples
within the
CD sales page.
